This is blog number three of the 20% project and this week I made some progress and changes with my plan. This week I picked up on where I left on my plan. I finished my bowl and with that there were some accomplishments. This week I succeeded at applying a finish on the bowl I made in week two. It was a great overall product, but it took a while for the finish to dry. So while I waited for it to dry I started working on my second bowl. This week I did a lot but I didn’t have any struggles this week. This being the case I am going to make some changes to my plan and instead of finishing my second bowl by week five I want to change that and make it my goal to finish my second bowl by week four. Next week I’m and going to start turning the bowl on the lathe and I will see how far a get then.

The room in my home that is my favorite is my bedroom here are a few reasons why. My first reason my room is my favorite is because it’s where I watch T.V. I get to watch whatever I want whether it’s sports or another show. Another reason my room is awesome is I can just go to my bed and go to sleep. It’s quiet and peaceful so it is pretty easy to fall asleep. My final reason my room is my favorite is I have space to do stuff in it. Most of the time I do my homework in my room because it’s easy to relax and I’m able to get stuff done there. This is why my bedroom is my favorite room.

This is blog number two of the 20% project and I worked on my bowl throughout the week and weekend. My accomplishments for the week were that I finished my bowl! I am done with every thing including sanding. There were some highs and there were some lows though to. My struggles this week were that when I was turning the bowl I went and cut out more than the tool would allow and it made some tears in the wood. The tears are like little holes in the wood that you can’t get put sanding. Because of this I am going to adjust my goal and my new goal is I want to make three bowls instead of the one and I want to see my improvement. Next week I am going to start applying the finish, but first I’m going to need to go to the store and get a specific finish I want to put on the bowl I made.

This year during spring break my family went to Santa Barbara. This was a really fun trip and we did lots of things. The first day we got to are campsite, and we set up all of are stuff and made a fire. The next morning we went down to the beach and ate lunch there and then we got to go whale watching on a sail boat. We saw so many sea animals! On the way out of the harbor we saw seals sleeping on the docks. That was nothing though compared to what we saw next. As we go by we see a great white shark! It even swam under are boat! After that we didn’t see anything for a while and right before we start to head back we see the tail of a big humpback whale! As we followed it we could see the barnacles attached to its skin. Then out of nowhere like the whale was performing a finale to finish off a show, it breached! It was amazing and I even got in on video! Overall the was the highlight of my spring break.

Hello my name is Charlie, for my 20% project I want to learn how to make bowls. This week was week #1 and I wanted to prepare for the next 6 weeks. This week I successfully researched the different tools I need for project. I wrote them down and during the weekend (4/6-4-7) I went to Rockler and got the tools. But during those accomplishments there were some accidents. When I got the stuff I went back to my house and opened up everything but when I opened up the thing that holds the wood onto the lathe it was to big! So I had to package it all up and go return and get the right size, so with my parents helping me get there I went and returned the item and I got the right size. When I went back home and attached it to the lathe it worked so now I’m all set for the next six weeks.

There are so many people I would want to invite to dinner, but these are my top three: my mom, my dad, and Kobe Bryant one of the greatest basketball players in NBA history. For dinner we would have fettuccine Alfredo one of my favorite foods. I would invite my mom because she makes the best dinners in our house no matter what it is. I would invite my dad because he is really good at making conversation and makes dinner entertaining. I would invite Kobe Bryant because I would love to talk to one of the greatest basketball players in sports history. Let alone have dinner with him! As you can see there are a lot of people in the world I would like to have dinner with these are my top three. Who would you choose to have dinner with?

This month I am almost done reading Squirm by Carl Hiassan I am on page 238 out of 260. I this story Billy goes to find his dad who his mom has been divorced from since he was 5. As he adventures deeper into his dad’s story he finds out that his dad is protecting animals from different poachers. As he keeps doing this though one of the poachers catches on and is chasing Billy’s dad throughout the state of Montana. Though as far as I have read the poacher has yet to been captured and is still hunting Billy’s dad. I liked this book because it was a mystery and somebody was being hunted by another person and it was full of action. My favorite character in the book is Billy because he stands up for others. One quote to prove this is “I couldn’t just watch this happen to the poor kid, so next thing I know I’ve got the bully in a head lock.” (Pg. 52) This shows this because he stood up to the bully who was bullying another kid. My favorite quote is “I couldn’t just watch this happen to the poor kid, so next thing I know I’ve go the bully in a head lock.” (Pg 52) I liked this quote because the main character was outlawed at his school before that but after it showed that Billy really cared.

If I could have any job in the entire world it would be a professional sports commentator. I would like this job because I love talking about sports and watching sports. I know a lot about the different sports and they are all really fun to watch. Another reason I would like this job is because I know the rules about the games and would be able to explain them to people watching these sports. My final reason I would like this job is it is a very well paying job and I would get a lot of money for what I’m doing. I would also get to go down to the fields/courts to meet different players from different teams. As you can see this is what I want to do when I grow up.

In this month a read the book Diary of a Wimpy Kid the Getaway by Jeff Kinney. In the book Greg and his family are feeling really stressed for the holidays this year and they decide to take a vacation to a tropical resort where there are many conflicts. Gregs family finds animals that they have never seen before and cause problems for them throughout the book. I enjoyed this book because it was full of hilarious action and suspense. My favorite character in this book is Greg Heffley. One character trait I like about him is that he is fearful. One piece of evidence to prove the is in the book he says “ WHAT THE HECK IS THAT!? That looks like it came straight from Jurassic park!” (Pg 63) This proves he is fearful because he talks about a movie about dinosaurs and compares it to the animal he sees. One of my favorite quotes in this book is “every once in a while I think about exercising and getting really buff.” (Pg 89) I thought this quote was hilarious and it came out of nowhere.

I was invisible for twenty four hours! To start my invisible day I woke up and I went to the store and I turned invisible I took my groceries and I left. That was the easiest way to rob a grocery store ever! On the walk home I played a prank on a taxi driver signaling for a taxi but when he pulled over nobody was there. It was hilarious! When I got home I put all my groceries away and then I thought I would aim for something bigger. I then bought a bunch of fire works and lit them and then turned invisible! As they went off one by one I watched the sky light up with so many colors! It was amazing. After that I thought I would go have some fun! I turned invisible and snuck into the golden state warriors basketball game by turning invisible I then went straight to court side and watched the entire game it was awesome! I have never been to a basketball game and sat court side before. It was awesome seeing all the players up close and seeing how tall they actually are. Overall my invisible day was awesome!
